About Our Veterinarians
Dr. Patrick Kalenzi
Born in Uganda to Rwandese refugee Tutsi parents, I began life in a world of segregation, civil war, and abject poverty. Unable to return to the war-torn place of my origin at the time—and plagued by violent discrimination in my adopted country—I fought to find safe haven. As a child, the only constants were my grandfather, our cows and dogs. Because of Grandpa’s wisdom and our bond, I decided to pursue our love of animals as my profession. This is why I became a veterinarian.

I studied Veterinary medicine at Makerere University, Uganda; one of the best universities in Africa. I moved to America to advance my training with an internship in Kentucky and to give my family a better life. I took the American Veterinary Association required tests; ECFVG/AVMA (at Mississippi State University) to get licensed in USA. I worked at a private practice in Boulder for 14 years and now the time came for me to own my practice.
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Lindsay Oklesh
Dr. Lindsay Oklesh was born and raised on the East Coast but moved to Colorado in 2001. She grew up riding horses competitively in South Florida in the sports of Hunter/Jumper and Three Day Eventing. Although her connection to horses helped to nurture her love of animals, Dr. Oklesh knew “from birth” that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Dr. Oklesh received her Bachelors of Science degree and graduated with honors from Colorado Mesa University (formerly Mesa State College) in Grand Junction, CO in 2007 before attending veterinary school at Colorado State University starting in 2008; she graduated with her D.V.M from CSU in 2012. After graduation, Dr. Oklesh completed a grueling one year internship in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care at Aspen Meadows Veterinary Specialists in Longmont, CO and then moved on to practice Emergency and Critical Care medicine for the past 7+ years at a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital in the Denver area. During that time, Dr. Oklesh became a certified ultrasonographer and became proficient in many areas of veterinary surgery. In 2019, seeking a change of pace after having her first child, Dr. Oklesh joined the Niwot/Rock Creek team and could not be happier. Dr. Oklesh lives in Lafayette with her husband (Adam), step-daughters (Ashlyn and Kendra), 11-month old son (Elias), two cats (Lulu and Mimi) and her beloved Vizsla (Baron). Her veterinary interests include: emergency medicine, surgery, ultrasonography and end-of-life/palliative care. Dr. Oklesh enjoys spending time with her family and climbing Colorado 14ers, camping, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, kayaking, cooking and yoga.
